Service Users Committee

The NSIC Service Users Committee was formed to provide Patient Representation at the bi-monthly Patient Forum meetings, the monthly Spinal Directorate and Clinical Governance meetings, and the Research Board. It provides a patient group for the NSIC to access for advice and guidance on patient issues, as well as a group for the patients to contact and feed through worries, concerns and comments. This committee aims to represent the interests of both current and former spinal cord injured persons under the care of the NSIC.

It consists of 9 SCI people of various levels, age of injury and gender and endeavours to reflect some of the diversity found within the community of spinal cord injured persons.

The Service Users Committee is currently made up of the following 9 patients under the care of the NSIC:

Patient representatives from this committee sit on the monthly Clinical Governance and Divisional Board committees and the NSIC Research Board.
